Finance veteran to lead company’s growth strategy
CARLSBAD, Calif., March 3, 2008 — Breach Security, Inc., the leader in web application security, announced today it has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Craig Kussman to the position of chief financial officer (CFO). Kussman joins the company as it builds upon record revenues in 2007 and enters new markets, expands global sales, marketing and channel operations, and capitalizes on the fast-growing market demand for web application security.

Kussman brings nearly 30 years of experience in finance, strategy and operations for organizations ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations. At Breach Security, he will lead the company’s financial operations and oversee the Finance and Operations departments. A key member of the Breach Security executive team, Kussman will enable company growth by focusing his efforts on strategic planning to expand the company’s global operations.
Prior to joining Breach Security, Kussman was CFO and senior vice president, corporate development for Ascenta Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company that develops targeted, new medicines for the treatment of cancer. Reporting to the president and chief executive officer, Kussman successfully led the company’s $52 million Series C financing round. Before Ascenta Therapeutics, Kussman was CFO and chief administrative officer of Discovery Partners International, Inc., where he successfully shepherded the merger of Discovery Partners with Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Before joining Discovery Partners, Kussman was executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer at SYNAVANT Inc., a provider of customer relationship management solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Kussman held various positions with IMS HEALTH including senior vice president of corporate development. Mr. Kussman also served as vice president of corporate development and as vice president of mergers and acquisitions for Cognizant Corporation. Kussman also held various financial and corporate development positions at The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation.
Kussman earned a B.A. cum laude in economics and mathematics from Pomona College and an M.B.A. with distinction in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
