London, United Kingdom, April 4, 2008 – Breach Security, Inc., the leader in web application security, today announced that Ivan Ristic, chief evangelist, will be a guest presenter at the upcoming ApacheCon 2008 trade show in Amsterdam. ApacheCon is the official conference of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), drawing internationally renowned thought-leaders, contributors, influencers and organizations in the Open Source community. Ristic authored the world’s leading web application firewall, ModSecurity, which has more than 15,000 deployments worldwide. He also wrote the book Apache Security, published by O’Reilly.
Ristic was invited to discuss the importance of securing web applications against the increasing tide of targeted attacks designed to steal sensitive information, such as credit card numbers. He will discuss the benefits of deploying a web application firewall vs. scanning and penetration testing, and why network firewalls cannot secure a web application. He will also provide an overview of ModSecurity, an open-source web application firewall currently in its fifth year of development. Attendees will gain an understanding of the advantage of deploying ModSecurity, deployment options, real-world use cases, and advanced features.
