Marc Shinbrood – Chairman of the Board, Breach Security, Inc.

Marc has more than 35 years of experience in information technology with the last 12 years dedicated specifically to the computer security industry. Marc served as the company’s CEO for 3 years before becoming Chairman. Before joining Breach, Marc served as President and CEO of Treasure Coast Software, a startup provider of E-mail Personal Information Containment (EPIC) solutions. Prior to Treasure Coast Software Marc held senior executive positions with Precise Software Solutions, WQuinn Associates, and AXENT Technologies. Earlier in his career, Marc was the president of TechGnosis International, the president and CEO of ShowCase Corporation, vice president and general manager of Global Software, a founder of Business Software Technology, Inc. and a vice president of Cullinet Software. Marc has a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and is the author of numerous industry articles and educational videotapes.

 

Mike Pierce – Chief Executive Officer

Pierce has nearly 30 years experience in the enterprise technology market having served in sales management, product management, business development, partner programs and channel development roles. Breach Security is Pierce’s fourth start-up. He has also held key positions with global leaders including Xerox, McGraw Hill, and Candle Corporation, as well as overseeing business units for Boole & Babbage, Tivoli/IBM, and SupportSoft. Much of Pierce’s experience has been in international markets including living in Japan for two years while managing Asian operations for SupportSoft. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of Kansas.

 

Carl Eibl – Managing Director, Enterprise Partners Venture Capital

Carl Eibl joined Enterprise Partners Venture Capital in mid-2003 as a Managing Director. Prior to joining Enterprise, Carl was the CEO of several high profile technology and life science companies in San Diego. As CEO of publicly-held Maxwell Technologies (MXWL), Carl led the recreation of Maxwell from an engineering and physics service organization for the U.S. military to a high-tech business that develops, manufactures and commercializes energy storage devices called ultracapacitors in the industrial, energy and transportation markets and single board computers and components in the satellite and space market. Before joining Maxwell, Carl served as President of Stratagene Corporation (STGN), now a public company but then a privately-held biotechnology company selling DNA, RNA, biologicals and laboratory instruments in the pharmaceutical and university biotech research markets. Carl also served as CEO for Mycogen Corporation a publicly-held agricultural, biotechnology company, which was sold to The Dow Chemical Company at the end of 1998. Carl holds a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law in Boston, MA, and a B.A. from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He currently serves on the Boards of BMS, Breach Security, Enviance, Identrus, Maxwell Technologies, NP Photonics, Preventsys and Stratagene Corporation. Carl also is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Burnham Institute, a life sciences research institution in La Jolla, CA.

 

Perse Faily – General Partner, Sid R. Bass Associates

Perse Faily is a General Partner at Sid R. Bass Associates, where she focuses on investments opportunities in wireless, digital media and technology-enabled consumer and business services. Previously, she was a General Partner at Idanta Partners, a venture capital affiliate of the Bass Brothers with $500 million in assets under management. At Idanta, she was tasked with working with management of the firm’s portfolio companies, having an integral role in the turnaround team at Iomega Corporation in the mid-1990s. Perse was also an Associate at Whitney & Co., a private equity firm with over $2 billion under management, where she focused on information technology investments. Earlier in her career, she was a consultant at Bain and Company, where she advised client in information services, publishing, and financial services.

Perse holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Duke University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She was also an Olmsted Fellow at the School of Advanced International Studies at John Hopkins University where she completed graduate work in economics and technology policy. Perse currently serves on the Boards of Breach, EMN8, and SKY MobileMedia and is a Board observer at Wispry.

 

John Payne – Chief Executive Officer of Concentrate, Inc.

In addition to his role at Breach Security, John serves as Chairman and former CEO of Preventsys, a private San Diego-based provider of network security software. Prior to Preventsys, John served as CEO of two public software technologies – Day Software, a leader in the enterprise content management market, and Stamps.com, where he led multiple private and public financings. John is an experienced leader and entrepreneur in technology markets focused on enterprise software and subscription services, Internet security, wireless communications and handheld technologies. He is a regular speaker at industry and trade conferences, and holds several United States patents in the areas of wireless Internet broadcasting and data communications.
